The Up­beat nom­in­ated for the YAM awards

-The Young Audiences Music Awards in the category Best Participatory Project with young audiences,

The Upbeat, a Composition Award for Children and Youth, has been nominated for the European YAMawards or The Young Audiences Music Awards in the category Best participatory project for young people. The YAMawards honor the creativity and innovation in music production of young people from all over the world, from soloists, to bands and everything in between.

The award ceremony will take place in Bruges, Belgium on October 18. Here you can see all the nominations and vote for the best act. We encourage you to log in and vote for The Upbeat.

The Upbeat is a co-operation project between Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre, Children’s Culture, Iceland University of the Arts, and KrakkaRÚV (The Icelandic National Broadcasting Service’s children’s channel).

The selected pieces will be finished in a workshop with the help of composers and music professionals. After this process the new musical compositions are performed by music professionals as a part of an ambitious and elegant concert programme in Harpa on the Children’s Culture Festival in Reykjavik.

The project is open to everyone from the age 10 to 15 and all pieces performed at the concert will receive a the Upbeat Composition Award.
