Söng­fug­larnir choir

The choir Söngfuglarnlr has been singing for several decades, the last quarter of a century under the name Söngfuglar. The first conductor of the choir was Sigurbjörg Petra Hólmgrimsdóttir. For many years the choir was based at Vesturgata 7, but in recent years rehearsals have taken place at Aflagrandi 40. The choir meets on Thursdays from September to May, either for rehearsals or visiting nursing and residential homes. On those monthly visits the choir usually performs a song program that includes Icelandic and foreign songs.
