Harpa has received an accredited equal pay certification. The primary objective of this certification is to address the gender pay gap and promote gender equality in the labour market.
The certification process occurs every three years, with the most recent audit and renewal of accreditation for Harpa taking place in 2023. Additionally, Harpa performs an annual salary analysis that compares the total salaries of men and women. This analysis considers factors such as job classification, seniority in the profession, and whether the salaries are fixed or variable.
The main objective of equal pay certification is to combat the gender pay gap and to promote gender equality in the labor market. According to the Act on Equal Status and Gender Equality, equal pay certification shall be based on the Equal Pay Standard ÍST 85: 2012.
With the implementation of the standard, companies and institutions can establish a management system that ensures that procedures and decisions in wage matters are based on objective considerations and do not involve gender-based discrimination.
