Hafnarfjörður Concert Band
Hafnarfjörður Concert Band is the municipal band of Hafnarfjörður town. The band was founded in January 1950 and celebrates its 75th anniversary this year. The band will give a concert in Norðurljós, Harpa, on Wednesday 9th April at 20:00. The bulk of the programme consists of recently written or arranged music for concert band, by composers such as Philip Sparke, John Williams and Johan de Meij, but the band will also play music from its repertoire in the last 75 years, including music by Icelandic composers Árni Björnsson and Páll Pampichler Pálsson. Two of the band's clarinet players will play Pálsson's Concert Polka for two clarinets and band.
Rúnar Óskarsson is the conductor of Hafnarfjörður Concert Band.
