A concert series dedicated to the grassroots of Icelandic music, across musical genres.
Upprásin is a part of Harpa's goal to improve grassroots and young people's access to all musical genres and increase diversity.
The goal is also for music enthusiasts to be able to hear a variety of new Icelandic music, straight from the grassroots of the music scene, performed under ideal conditions in the nation's concert house.
Upprásin takes place in Kaldalón hall in Harpa one Tuesday evening a month during the winter, and ticket prices are kept to a minimum to increase accessibility.
Harpa, in cooperation with Reykjavík Music City and the broadcasting channel Rás 2, stands behind the concert series.
