Hörpustrengir
The management company Hörpustrengir ehf. was established in December 2013. The purpose of Hörpustrengir is to operate selected events that mark the footprints of the Icelandic music- and culture scene and would not be possible without its involvement.
Hörpustrengir should not to operate in direct competition with event planners and residents in Harpa, and events are usually operated with selected partners
Hörpustrengir has operated a variety of different events, such as:
- The Nutcracker performed by St. Petersburg Festival Ballet in collaboration with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra
- London Philharmonic Orchestra
- Reykjavik Midsummer Music
- The Pianist; Philip Glass
- Wynton Marsalis and Jazz at Lincoln Centre in collaboration with Reykjavik Jazz Festival
- The San Francisco Ballet
- The Upbeat – Composition Award for children and youth
- The Swan Lake performed by St. Petersburg Festival Ballet with members of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra
- Academy of St Martin in the Fields and Joshua Bell
- Budapest Festival Orchestra
- Sleeping Beauty performed by St. Petersburg Festival Ballet in collaboration with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra
