A Coun­try Night in Nashville

Following the success of recent visiting artists at Harpa - Emilio Santoro as Elvis last September and Xenna as Taylor Swift in March this year - Jamboree Entertainment continues to bring top quality international entertainment to Icelandic audiences.

Rolling into Reykjavik for one night only is the concert show all Country music fans have been waiting for - A Country Night in Nashville makes its debut at Eldborg, Harpa on Friday 26 September, joining Mania: The ABBA Tribute on Saturday 27 September for a fun-filled weekend.

Direct from The Royal Albert Hall and a sell-out UK tour, A Country Night in Nashville features one of the world’s top Country bands of its kind - Dominic Halpin and the Hurricanes - performing all-time favourites from its biggest stars both past and present.

Dominic Halpin and his supremely talented band of vocalists and musicians recreate the scene of a buzzing honky-tonk in downtown Nashville, perfectly capturing the energy and atmosphere of an evening in the home of Country music.

UK-born lead vocalist and guitarist Dominic has an international performing career, sharing the bill with Sir Cliff Richard, Tony Bennett and Emeli Sandé, writing tracks for Hollywood films and TV, and recording his own album in Nashville itself with Elvis Presley’s former drummer. Making up the six-piece ‘Hurricanes’ with an authentic country sound are Shelly Quarmby (vocals), Donna Marie (vocals/keyboard), Ben Wiltshire (bass), James Walker (drums), and Matt Wells (guitar/banjo).

Prepare to be transported on a musical journey through the decades with humour, heartfelt vocals and tight musicianship, with songs from Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Patsy Cline, The Chicks, Shania Twain and Lady A to name just a few.

Country music has seen a great resurgence in popularity in recent years, with the likes of The Shires, Taylor Swift, Lady Antebellum (now Lady A) and Beyonce bringing their own contemporary style to the genre and introducing Country to a huge new, young audience.

With an impressive range of hits from both legendary and contemporary stars, the setlist includes such classics as Ring of Fire, Crazy, Follow Your Arrow, It’s Five o’ Clock Somewhere, Need You Now, 9-5, The Gambler and many more.
