Annual and Sustainability Report 2022
The role of Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre ohf. (Harpa) is to be a platform for musical and cultural life as well as all kinds of conferences, meetings and gatherings, domestic and foreign. Harpa and its subsidiaries (the group) manage the ownership and operation of the concert hall and conference centre Harpa at Austurhöfn in Reykjavík, as well as related activities.
Does this matter?
With the publication of a sustainability report, Harpa's powerful management and staff group shows a clear intention and desire to secure Harpa's place among the world's leading cultural institutions in the field of social responsibility. In today's society, success is not only judged by the sound quality in a concert hall or the picture that appears in the financial information in the annual accounts. The image and success of music and conference venues is determined by the conversation with society, a conversation that includes a much broader approach than we have seen before.
Value for society
Harpa's purpose is to create cultural, economic and social value for its owners, who are all citizens. The company does this by fulfilling its mission with ambition and dedication. As the home and world stage of music, an excellent conference hall in international competition and a work of art in the public domain, Harpa has great responsibilities to lead by example when it comes to social responsibility and the implementation of sustainability in all aspects of its operations.
