About
María's Blues Band is
newly formed and consists of the powerful vocalist María Magnúsdóttir, the
seasoned guitarist Andrés Þór Gunnlaugsson, the skilled bass player Birgir
Steinn Theodorsson, and the versatile Sólrún Mjöll Kjartansdóttir on drums. The
repertoire for the evening includes old blues classics in new arrangements,
along with fresh material that touches on the soul golden age. The band pays
tribute to artists such as Robert Johnson, Bessie Smith, Etta James, Beth Hart,
and Tom Waits.

Björtuloft is located on the top floors of Harpa, at the very summit of the building, offering spectacular views of the city, the harbour and the mountains. Björtuloft makes an elegant and unusual setting for special gatherings, such as private corporate banquets and meetings. The hall is on two levels with a bar and balconies on the lower level.
