The Nordic Conductors' Forum (Nordisk Dirigent Forum) is a collaborative project among symphony orchestras in the Nordic countries where the most promising conductors of Nordics get the opportunity to work closely with two symphony orchestras over an entire season. The aim of the course is to create a professional training platform where young and emerging Nordic conductors gain experience. Now, for the first time, the Iceland Symphony Orchestra participates in this exciting project and invites five conductors to lead the orchestra under the guidance of Eva Ollikainen, Chief Conductor. The students will then repeat the performance with the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra at the Aarhus Festival in Denmark next spring.

At these open concerts, the forum’s work will be showcased, as young, outstanding students will conduct the overture to Oberon by Carl Maria von Weber, METACOSMOS by Anna Thorvaldsdóttir and Sibelius's Fifth Symphony.

Admission is free.
